Rod Drum Washing Machine
For pre-cleaning root vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, beetroot, parsnips etc. for loosening and washing off the adhering soil.
Rod drum washing machines are used to remove adhering soil from root vegetables. Common dimensions are Ø 800 mm or Ø 1000 mm diameter and lengths of 2000 or 3000 mm, depending on the required power.
For larger products, such as sugar beet and corresponding outputs, much larger plants are also used.
The water used to rinse off the product is usually pumped over. So underneath the rod drum, water and impurities are collected. Dirt and water are separated by settling basins and the water is sprayed back over the product. The replenishment for lost water is provided by the downstream laundry.
There are many different variants of profiling inside the drum and optional covers of the machine or different water circulation systems.
