Brush Drum Washing Machines
For washing and extensively cleaning of root vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, parsnips, beetroot, for loosening and washing off the adhering soil, etc.
Brush drum washing machines are used to remove adhering soil and protections from root vegetables. Common dimensions are Ø 800 mm or Ø 1000 mm diameter and lengths of 2000 or 3000 mm, depending on the required power.
In the case of larger products, such as sugar beets and corresponding capacities, much larger machines are used. The water used to rinse off the product is usually pumped over. So underneath the brush drum, water and impurities are collected. Settling tanks, screening devices/filter screens are used to separate dirt and water and the water is sprayed over the product again. The replenishment for lost water is carried out by the water overflow of following washer, if present, or controlled via a level control and solenoid valve from a fresh water supply.
There are many different variants of profiling inside the drum and optional covers of the machine or different water circulation systems.
